This makes the German sports metropolis the fifth of a total of seven stations in the most internationally renowned swimming series. The competitions will take place over three days on a 50m course. In addition, the World Cup will be a FINA qualification competition for the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 and, as in the past, should attract many international top stars of the swimming scene to the German capital.
In addition to the national swimming championships, it is hard to imagine the sports metropolis without international events. Berlin is and remains the centre of German swimming – as far as the major national and international events are concerned. And this autumn, in the wake of the SWC19, it will be even more in the spotlight.
